House-Events in Athen

House music originated in the Chicago club scene during the late 1970s and early 1980s, primarily rooted in the underground African American and LGBTQ+ communities. Characterized by a repetitive four-on-the-floor kick drum at a moderate tempo of 115 to 130 BPM, the genre typically features synthesizers, Roland drum machines, and soulful vocal samples. Its hypnotic rhythms and off-beat hi-hat patterns evolved from disco and funk, emphasizing a steady, driving groove designed for continuous dancing and euphoric club atmospheres. As a foundational pillar of modern electronic dance music, house maintains a strong semantic connection to garage and techno while heavily influencing contemporary pop production.
